Children

These Jewish lessons are for both the boys and girls ultimately focused on their bar or bat mitzvah. The Rabbi practices with their Hebrew phrases and grammar to be able to recite part of the Bible text on the day they turn 13 years old (for the boys) and 12 years old (for the girls) respectively. The meeting on the Sabbath at the Groningen synagogue at which a boy or girl performs is festively decorated by the congregation with gifts, sweets and lunch.
