The Jewish Community of Groningen provides classes and education for children and adults. The children meet once a month to become familiar with the Hebrew alphabet and further with words and phrases under the guidance of Rabbi S. Spiero. The texts used are drawn from daily prayers and in particular from the berachot or blessing sayings. The children learn early on to pronounce the blessing sayings over the bread and wine or grape juice. Lessons also include drawings and objects related to the Jewish calendar and holidays. The Rabbi’s arrival and his commitment to teaching are supported in part by MAROR.<\/p>\n
